Managing Type 2 Diabetes: Perspectives on Evolving Treatment Standards and Gaps in Care On-Demand Webinar
Needs Statement/Intended Audience
This activity has been planned in accordance with the need to provide endocrinologists and other diabetes care providers with an update on the state of glycemic control, the impact of intensive therapy, and the latest findings in incretin therapy.
Educational Activity Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the participants should be able to:
- Design type 2 diabetes treatment plans based on an understanding of the role of various therapies in precisely targeting pathophysiologic mechanisms of type 2 diabetes
- Define the impact of meeting glycemic goals on reducing the risk of microvascular and macrovascular complications in patients with type 2 diabetes
- Identify the major benefits and barriers of mono- and combination therapies used to assist patients in achieving glycemic control
- Understand the current findings on therapies targeting incretin modulation and put these findings into the larger perspective of natural progression of type 2 diabetes
