ACR 2008: The Latest Evidence for Targeted RA Therapy

Needs Statement/Intended Audience

This activity is intended to provide rheumatologists with the latest information from ACR about targeted RA therapy.

Educational Activity Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, the participants should be able to:

  • Describe current and emerging therapies for RA, including both small molecule and biologic DMARDs
  • Demonstrate awareness of the latest clinical trial results on the benefits and risks of new and emerging biologics
  • Describe newer paradigms for RA management, including current expert thinking and clinical trial results on the value of early detection, close monitoring and aggressive treatment
  • Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of RA disease activity indices and their utility in different clinical situations
